6 Most Common Colors for your 2024 Wedding in Chicago

When planning your wedding, one of the first questions that people will ask you is actually what wedding colors you plan on having in your theme for the day. While it may seem like it is a detail that can be pushed to deal with later, it’s important to consider the colors that will be surrounding you on your wedding day to ensure that you are presenting the vibe and theme that you want to be felt by your guests. And while some people may try to shy away from what is popular, the colors we have seen often are generally popular because they are so beautiful and you can still create something unique with mixing them into your personality. Here are some of the most popular color schemes we will be seeing for 2024 weddings in Chicago.

1. Pink

Especially in the height of the Barbie movie, pinks really are seeing their moment this year. You can go with anything between pale pinks and deep magentas to really make a statement of beauty. Pink is a very easy accent color if you’re not looking to light up the room necessarily, or you can go really daring and bright to really wow your guests. It also seems to be popular now because the Pantone color of the year really stood it's ground too, and now the people that liked it last year are getting married this year. It’s no surprise that it’s coming up more often!

2. Black (and White)

Having black for your wedding colors - specifically for wedding party and wedding guest attire - truly is the easiest way to elevate any wedding to be more classy and modern. We can see it now - the baby’s breath centerpieces, the white walls, and the black dresses? That truly is a timeless look, and we don’t say that lightly!

3. Green

Sage green has always been a fan favorite for all weddings across the board. You can also go more elegant and formal with an emerald green, or more romantic and moody with an olive green. The color palette itself is warm and welcoming and you really can’t go wrong! We would say that most weddings emphasize the greenery in their florals and have white florals, but adding in some big pops of emerald green will really add to your day in a way you should be excited for!

4. Peach

If the pinks in number 1 are too much but you love that vibe, the peaches are really where it’s at! It’s less harsh but it is truly so gorgeous. You can really go any direction with the formality of the wedding - it can be an elegant garden party, or a relaxed, quirky day too! This color has a lot of personality and really is something beautiful to add to your wedding day. As a wedding coordinator that loves plants and flowers, if you use our favorite peach-colored ranunculus flowers, you can never go wrong!

5. “Sunset colors” - Burgundy, Terracotta, Yellow, and Orange

There is a 70’s vibe that is sticking around through the weddings the last few years and this color palette really is what you would imagine for this vibe! Specifically fall weddings love this look with having the flowers match the leaves, but really this color palette is a beauty no matter what time of the year. Having a larger color palette like this also allows for you to choose any focal color you want and still have a colorful, lively wedding day.

6. Lilac

Lilac is the most dainty of all of these colors, but you can absolutely throw in some pinks or light greens to really add to it if you please. Lilac definitely gives a spring, garden vibe that is unmatched in elegance. You can also throw in some deeper purples to accent it and really make it modern too. If you’re more of a light and airy type of vibe, this is the perfect color for you.
