7 Things You Need in Your Wedding Day Emergency Kit in Chicago

Your wedding day may be full of fun, but there are often little things that go wrong that might need some fixes. Your wedding coordinators like us will have with us an emergency kit to help you out, but if we aren’t around in the morning, we definitely think you might want a bag of the most common items we use from our kit! Here are the top 7 things that we use from our emergency kit the most often that we think you might want to have with you.

  1. Safety Pins

Whether your bustle on your dress breaks or if your decor starts to fall apart, safety pins are definitely our most commonly needed item from our emergency kit.

2. Scissors

There are SO many things that need to be cut on your wedding day, so we definitely recommend keeping a pair of scissors handy. Your outfit, your decor, any tags… the uses are endless!

3. Bobby Pins

A very commonly used item from our emergency kit are also bobby pins. Your hair staying in place is pretty important, but we also use them sometimes to secure your veil. It’s always a good idea to keep them handy!

4. Tape

Tape is definitely a must in your kit if you’re planning on bringing any decorations yourself - just in case something rips or breaks, you don’t want to be in a pickle! We definitely recommend scotch tape and/or duct tape to ensure you are all set.

5. Advil

Advil is one of the things that people end up needing on a wedding day, whether it’s for a current hangover or preemptive, or if you just didn’t get enough sleep, having Advil on-hand is definitely is ideal. There are so many reasons you might end up with a headache on the wedding day so it’s better to be safe than sorry!

6. Sewing Kit

A sewing kit is definitely a nice extra perk to have with you in case there are any wardrobe malfunctions! We use it more often for guests, but it’s still good to have just in case if your own outfit ends up needing a quick fix too!

7. Tissues

For the sake of tears, makeup fixes, and any allergies, tissues definitely are well-used and well-loved from our emergency kits. We definitely recommend grabbing either a pack of these or a handful of Q-tips - they are good for the tear and the makeup too and a lot more direct for the areas!

We always have a full case of items for your emergency kit, but when we are working on your wedding in another area it might be good to carry some of these things with you to make sure any hangups that come up can be fixed for your perfect wedding day! If you need to make sure your wedding day is running smoothly, feel free to reach out to us here and we are happy to help make sure you don’t have to worry about a thing on your wedding day!
