Beating the Heat for your Summer Wedding

You may already know, but summer is the most popular season to get married. This means that many couples are faced with decisions regarding the weather that they may not be aware of! When planning for your summer wedding, you definitely need to consider the weather for your wedding day. After you look into the weather patterns around the time you are planning on getting married, there are a bunch of things for you to think about to ensure that you and your guests are comfortable for your wedding. You may want a beautiful outdoor wedding, but you’ll probably need to consider these things:

Shade

Try out a venue that has a covered patio for the cocktail hour or reception! This is a great way to keep your guests shaded while still enjoying the outdoors. You can also add accessories to your wedding like parasols or sunglasses that will be sure to make your guests interested!

Fans

There are hundreds of options for handheld fans to provide for your guests. You can use your programs with a stick to double as a fan or provide fans that open up and are easy to use. If you have and outdoor electric fans, this can be helpful for things like cocktail hour or the reception when you don’t really need things to be as quiet too.

Indoor Event Space (with AC)

Even though your wedding may be in the summer, you can always have your ceremony and reception indoors so your guests stay comfortable. You can take all of your wedding pictures outside to make sure you get some of that outdoor beauty and your guests will thank you for the escape from the heat!

Evening Ceremony Time

This one may have the most important impact on your wedding day! If you move your ceremony time to start about 1 or 2 hours before sunset, there will still be beautiful lighting but not nearly as harsh. This will definitely help keep your guests cool!

Lighter Fabrics

For you and your wedding party’s attire, make sure to consider the heat with this one too. Many people don’t love the short wedding party dresses or suit pants without a jacket, but you can hopefully try and find some fabrics and material that won’t overheat you and your wedding party.

Waters and Refreshments

You can always provide little water bottles to your guests during the ceremony if you’re concerned about them falling out. Some couples also opt to have lemonade available as well!

A summer wedding is absolutely a great choice for some beautiful weather and fantastic photos. But unfortunately, it can’t always be sunshine and rainbows. There may be too much sunshine that overwhelms and overheats your guests, so definitely think about these options to make sure that your wedding will be comfortable!
