CampBride - Chicago Hair and Makeup Wedding Services - Vendor Spotlight
Hair and makeup is one of those vendors that some people don’t think about hiring until a few months before their wedding and have a hard time finding a company or separate companies that are available for their wedding date. I’m here to tell you you should look sooner rather than later because vendors have been booking up very far in advance! I have worked with Kasha at CampBride plenty of times with couples and she and her team produce incredible work! Every time I have a bride or wedding party members that have used CampBride, I always notice how beautiful their hair and makeup looks. I’d love for you to learn more about Kasha and her business with this brief interview we had!
Meet Kasha Bonnell:
What is your background? I was born & raised in the Minneapolis metro area. I received my cosmetology license and worked in the national celebrity music scene as a hair & makeup artist while I finished college. After finishing my BA degree, I moved to Chicago to work in the fashion advertising industry. I have been working with both celebrity and fashion advertising for over 30 years. Anybody that knows me well understands that I am all about family and our three fur babies Frankie, Louie, and Dirty Harry!
What do you do when you aren't working at weddings? When I am not working weddings, I am working on photo shoots for advertising clients and celebrities. On my time off I travel, take my dogs on fun walks, and hang out with family and friends.
How She got Started:
How did you get started in your business? About 8 years ago, I developed CampBride with the notion to incorporate hair & makeup artists that work in the fashion advertising industry into the wedding field. It took quite a few years to build the artist pool and to acquire the numerous 5 star reviews on "The Knot". I take pride in all of my artists expertise and their ability to make every wedding party beautiful!
How would you describe your business or business model? As the owner of CampBride, our mission statement is to make every bride to look and feel their very best on their wedding day. Furthermore, it is vital that all of the CampBride artists are happy with each wedding project and that they are proud to work for my company.
What are your next moves for your business if anything is coming up or changing? CampBride just recently made a big business move this season by expanding our services up through the Wisconsin area. We have taken on a few amazing artists in the region and we have booked many weddings already for the 2023 bridal season.
Her Favorites:
What is your favorite wedding you worked and why? My favorite moment of each wedding is when the bride looks into the mirror and she can see her hair & makeup for the first on her wedding day. The sparkle in her eyes and the smile of confidence lets me know that CampBride has make the bride's day truly special!
That is so special to be part of such an important moment in the morning! I know that if couples don’t look their best, they may not feel their best for the day. It’s really important to find a hair and makeup artist that will produce work that you feel confident in, because you definitely want to be confident in yourself on the day of your wedding!
Her Advice to You:
What is something that you wish that couples knew when planning their wedding? I wish couples knew the importance of planning their wedding details early! Do the research and be open and creative with their budgets. The old saying of "you get what you pay for" is the truth in the wedding industry.
This totally makes sense! This reigns true for all wedding vendors for your wedding day. Making sure to do your research on reputable vendors often means you will have to either adjust or lower your expectations, or pay for the services that meet your expectations.
