The Gold Pyramid in Wadsworth, Illinois Unique and Fun Wedding Feature: Meranda and Danny

This toasty September wedding was one to truly remember and that we will never forget! If you’re at all familiar with Wadsworth, you’ve probably driven past this unique home yourself and wondered what was inside. We had the privilege of helping Meranda and Danny bring their wedding day together at The Gold Pyramid and it was such a good time. We helped with day-of coordination which was perfect to help relieve stress and make sure that everyone enjoyed the wedding day. Meranda had mentioned that she really cared about everyone having a good time, and thankfully we were able to help that happen!

The wedding party started by getting ready inside the main pyramid. There were two rooms that we partitioned so the guys and girls were able to relax and get ready without seeing each other.

The pajamas that Meranda had for her wedding party and her moms were adorable! We love anything that doesn’t have to go over your head after you’ve finished up your hair and makeup - which looks amazing, by the way!

We don’t have photos of everything inside the pyramid, but we do have some cool shots like this! We also are really glad Meranda also went with a classy ponytail due to how hot it was outside - I’m sure that was nice to have her hair off her back and to show off her backless dress.

The day had a lot of classic elements to it, including Meranda and Danny’s looks for the day and the florals. The sleek lines from her dress, the simple, white bouquet, and general vibe was purely modern and classic. The main elements that brought the uniqueness of the day were things like the venue, the decor, and the entertainment you’ll see below!

The wedding party had an array of colors for dresses that we loved. This really started the “garden party vibe” that is so beautiful for the day that you’ll also see in the decor.

The ceremony was outside the pyramid which was a great way to emulate it! Meranda and Danny didn’t do a first look because as Meranda said, “I’m a sucker for the drama down the aisle” which was such a beautiful moment!

We also were lucky enough to have Veronica do the ceremony music and it was GORGEOUS! Thankfully we also were able to shade her with an umbrella from the heat we were faced with for the day.

Thankfully, the ceremony was nice and short to get everyone out of the direct sun. The officiant was a family friend which always helps keep things more simple but still just as special. Meranda was pretty nervous in the morning, but after she was officially married she got to really enjoy the day fully!

And as a reminder - make sure to give a final kiss down the aisle for a precious photo like this!!! These pictures surrounded by everyone you love is always one of our favorites from the album.

Once the tent was open for seating and cocktail hour, everyone was able to be transferred to a garden party under the tent! The unique plates for each guest was definitely one of our favorite parts of the design that made it feel really intimate even though there were about 200 people. They also hand-wrote each guests’ names that we had set up, but because it got so windy we had to put them under the silverware so they didn’t fly away and get missed!

Cocktail hour was mostly covered, but with the time of day thankfully things started to cool down. Everyone really enjoyed the cold drinks regardless!

It’s really hard to pick just one part of this wedding that was our favorite, but truly one of the best parts about this wedding was the entertainment. There is nothing that compares to this magician that was at cocktail hour - all of the guests LOVED him! AJ was so personable and so much fun to watch. It’s definitely something that will stand out to all of the guests forever as a really cool, unique part of Meranda and Danny’s wedding day.

We also loved these matchboxes as favors - the designs they had perfectly matched the Egyptian vibe from the pyramid mixed with the magic vibe from the magician!!

Since Meranda and Danny didn’t do a first look, they spent the cocktail hour taking photos for their family portraits, wedding party pictures, and lastly their couple’s portraits. We have to say, these photos in the album were SO cool - especially with their sunglasses they probably really needed because of how bright and sunny it was!

One feature that also stuck out to us was the lounge set that was rented out - it was a perfect space for conversation but also a really popular spot for photos! We saw a lot of guests taking photos there the whole night and this photo is definitely the most iconic!

We also LOVED the photos with their family friend’s cool car - the photos looked like they were right out of a magazine for the sunset photos!

The evening cooled down a bit in the tent for dinner, speeches, and dancing. It was such a fun yet emotional time to be with all of their guests. The first dances and the speeches were precious!!

Overall, this wedding was one of the coolest we were able to be a part of! The stress truly washed away once the ceremony go started and we were really able to help bring their wedding day to life with such a beautiful setup. We absolutely loved every unique element that was just so cool to see and be a part of. This is one of those weddings that we absolutely will remember forever because of how fun and interesting it was from start to finish!
