Meet Mackenzi and Sarah:

Mackenzi and Sarah are both from the Chicago area that got their start in the digital media field. Sarah currently is a content writer for an advertising agency and Mackenzi is a marketing coordinator for a non-profit organization. They both graduated from Northern Illinois University and use their knowledge of social media marketing and their wedding experience to create a new facet of the wedding industry where they combine them together. They have spent a combined 7 years in digital media and Mackenzi also worked as a bridal consultant in a wedding dress shop that provided her with even more experience within the industry before working together to launch their business.

I came across Gemini Media Management’s page on Instagram and I was incredibly intrigued by the idea of having content creators at your wedding! From the first glance, I assumed that this was a service meant for influencers. Upon reading more, I understood the value of having someone that isn’t a family member or a friend removing themselves from the joy of your day to take photos and film you on your wedding day! If I had known about this before my own wedding, I likely would have used this service to get some photos and videos to look back on before getting professional photos back!

Gemini Media Management is a content creation company that helps you utilize social media to keep your loved ones involved in every aspect of your wedding day. By using content creators, you don’t have to ask your family and friends to take photos and videos which means that they can enjoy your wedding day with you.

Using a wedding content creator allows you to look back on candid events from your wedding as soon as the next day. During the event, Mackenzi and Sarah attend the wedding, capture candid moments throughout, and post content to your custom Instagram page in real time, including boomerangs, stories, posts, and reels. How They got Started:

Both Mackenzi and Sarah had their weddings in 2020 and 2021 which were of course impacted by COVID. They had to make many changes to make their wedding happen including massive cuts to their guest lists. Because of this, they used social media to keep their guests all in the loop and share their wedding days as much as possible.

Through their weddings, they had felt rather stressed by creating content on their wedding days or for each others’ weddings, which is why they began this business. They didn’t like tasking their friends and family with creating content and stressing about it. They named their business Gemini Media Management also because they are both geminis - so am I!

Their Favorites:

Mackenzi and Sarah say that the way that each couple brings new things and ideas to the table is really their favorite thing. Couples work hard to make sure that their relationship, personality, and taste is reflected in their wedding day. Along that line, hey also say they love seeing personal touches within each wedding to make it their own.

I love this too! There is more and more emphasis on bringing your personality into your wedding and making it unique to fit you as a couple, and that is some of the most memorable stuff from weddings. Your guests surely will be talking about those personal touches too!

They also said a specific moment they won’t forget was capturing the first snowfall during a November wedding recently. This sounds so magical and really is such a cool moment to have for a wedding day!

Their Advice to You:

They want to emphasize the wedding day from the perspective of your friends and family - you may not really realize the position your wedding party, family, and friends are in on your wedding day and it’s important to remember that they are there to celebrate and enjoy your day with you! Having your friends and family capture your photos and videos on the day as a task really can fall short of your expectations. They will likely forget to do it or not really give you all of the pieces of your day that you’re looking for. Your wedding party, family, and friends want to make sure your wedding day is special by being there with you to celebrate. By hiring someone outside of your social circle to take care of this, your family and friends really will be able to enjoy themselves with you and party by your side.

I definitely love this perspective! In my opinion as a natural-born people pleaser, I always want to make sure everyone is having a good time. By tasking a family member or a friend with this role for the whole wedding day, it may become overwhelming and not nearly as fun if they got to sit back and enjoy your wedding WITH you! This is also the same sentiment for having a coordinator at your wedding that I like to push for my couples - having people that know the industry will know what to look for and take care of the things you want without forcing your family and friends to deal with it!
