Top 10 Items Couples Forget to Pack for their Wedding Day
The last few days leading up to your wedding definitely can have its stresses. You have a million things running through your head and you’re trying to make sure that all of your details have been covered. When it comes time to pack all of your items for the actual wedding, there are a lot that get forgotten and left behind. I have a comprehensive list that I send to all of my couples, but here are the top 10 items that have been forgotten at home:
2. Unity Ceremony Items
Things like a unity candle, unity sand, or even other ceremony items like your flower baskets or ceremony readings are good ones to look out for and make sure you have somewhere you’ll remember.
5. Speeches or Vows
If you’re having personal vows, it truly would be a bummer if you didn’t bring them with you. At least with this one you can try to rewrite them in the morning if you realize you don’t have it with you!
7. Emergency Kit
You may not actually ending up using anything in there, but it’s definitely better safe than sorry!
10. Marriage License
This one is definitely the most important thing on this list! Make sure you have a handle on where this will be throughout your day. Whether you hand it off to a family member, or give it to the officiant, you need to make sure that this is in a safe place.
A good way to make sure that this doesn’t happen to you is to have a list with all of the things that you plan on bringing to the wedding yourself. It may seem obnoxious to do this, but you won’t regret it when the list is one hundred things long and you would have probably left one or two at home.
Another good way to make sure you are covered is to keep all of your items in one place if possible. You can even separate them into sections for what places you need these items if it helps. You can have a section of items for your getting ready locations, your ceremony, and your reception. You could even go into more detail than that and do it by tables or sections, such as a “details box” for your getting ready shots for your photographer, a “guest book table box” that has all of your guest book pieces, pens, your card box, and a sign, or a “ceremony box” that has flower petals, unity candles, and any readings you need.
