New Year’s Eve Wedding Feature at Bolingbrook Golf Club: Allyson and Matthew

This beautiful, winter wedding fell on New Years Eve and it truly was one of the most fun holiday weddings I have ever been a part of. Allyson and Matt had a very sweet ceremony at St. Francis in Orland Park, and after that they really set the fun in motion at Bolingbrook Golf Club. I don’t think there was a moment throughout the entire day where there wasn’t a vibrant smile on both of their faces and all of their family and friends truly looked like they all had an amazing time too. Krystal, the photographer, did a spectacular job of capturing their joy and love throughout the day!

The details of their day were so classic and modern. You can tell with their color scheme that they were leaning in to the NYE vibe, and it really made it feel like a classy, fun party!

While Allyson didn’t do a first look with Matt, she did one with her dad and with her bridesmaids. I truly loved the reactions her girls had! They really were a great hype team for the whole day.

Allyson’s crew consisted of nearly everyone from cheerleading backgrounds. This made for such a fun photo pose that they wrapped into their morning while getting ready and also later in the evening!

The couple opted not to do a first look so they could see each other for the first time down the aisle. I thought this moment was so fun - Matt smile-laughing was so sweet!

The ceremony was pretty classically Catholic, although I don’t usually see everyone take a moment to greet each other! That was a really sweet for the couple to be able to greet their family and friends during the ceremony. It’s nice to be able to have something like this for all of your guests to feel brought together for the ceremony instead of only being “spectators”.

Allyson and Matt had a pretty large wedding party for their wedding day. Sometimes this comes with more logistics for corralling and managing all of those people for photos and getting the timing right, but everyone they had had were wonderful to work with!

Since they also had each of their wedding party members and many of their plus ones, there was one of the longest head tables I have ever seen that wrapped around the front nearly the whole way. They made it work though - I thought it looked nice and elegant!

Allyson and Matt wanted to do a sparkler exit with their wedding party which worked out really well logistically. Sparkler exits can be tough to pull off depending on your venue, but this sparkler exit we did did NOT disappoint. Having such a large wedding party definitely helped the photos in my opinion!

One of my favorite little details of their wedding day was that they had a signature drink sign from Etsy that matched their New Years wedding theme with a “Midnight Kiss”. Sometimes it’s nice to have a nod to your theme like this. I thought the sign itself was really cute!

Their first dance was incredibly sweet to watch - I couldn’t help but cry because I was so wrapped up in how happy Allyson and Matt were throughout the entire day! You can also see a little peak of their balloon drop in the ceiling that was going to happen at midnight.

They didn’t get photos of the amazing balloon drop, but they do have video! Here is their highlight feature from Joe who did an amazing job on their videos!

This wedding was such a joy to be a part of. The couple made sure to enjoy every moment and have a fun, lovely day together. It was clear that they were so happy to be married and have a day to celebrate with their family and friends. Working with Allyson and Matt was incredible because I could see the love between them was so strong and they were just so excited to be with everyone they loved!
